It reduces background noise up to 90% in the received signal and 30% in the transmits signal. The built-in GPS receiver shows your current position and time and can be used for DSC calls. GPS data source is selectable from internal and external GPS and GPS-OFF setting. This unit also has a 10-watt built-in amp that increases the audio output to an external PA speaker. The public address function allows you to make an announcement from the microphone like a loudspeaker. The foghorn can also be emitted from the external PA speaker. The ICOMR common Marine Family User Interface provides simple operation for the boat owner. A rotary selector and directional keypad provide intuitive operation. The high-contrast white backlit LCD and laser-cut keypad match well with modern boat designs. The built-in DSC watch function monitors Ch.70 DSC channel activity, even while you are receiving another channel. DSC functions include distress, individual, group, all ships, urgency, safety, position request report, polling request and DSC test calls. When receiving DSC information from another vessel, this unit can transfer it to a navigational device via NMEA 0183 connectivity. The radio can withstand submersion up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes, making it equivalent to the IPX7 standard. This unit is MarineCommanderTM and MA-500TR AIS transponder compatible. It also has the AquaQuakeTM water draining function and dual tri-watch function for monitoring Ch.16 and or call channel. |
