From that day forward Tom was blessed to study with 2 of the best music educators in the Midwest. Tom studied composition for 20 years with Paul Parker, renowned pianist and wood wind virtuoso. Simultaneously, at Parker's suggestion Tom studied voice with another top talent in teaching and coaching, Dwaine Price. Dwaine was Tom's voice coach until his untimely death in 2012. While studying with Parker and Price, and making demos of his music, Tom taught himself how to produce top notch and high quality master recordings and in 1997 released his first CD. "Cool Smooth & Sassy, featuring Joe Genovese. on his newly formed Indie label Lone Eagle Records LLC. To further improve his songwriting skills, Tom studied lyric writing in Nashville for 4 years with #1 song writer Jon Ims ("She's In Love With The Boy" Trisha Yearwood) and Grammy Winner from Broadway, Sheila Davis. Tom's time in Nashville was well spent and produced some valuable liaisons with top producers Lea Jane Berinatti-Burie, and Danny Bailey. Along the way Johnny Ray Gomez suggested to Tom record some covers of classic hits to mix with his originals, more good advice which Tom took and used as he built his repertoire and launched his solo vocal career, recording both his original works and covers of greatest hits. "Best Of Tom Tomoser" follows that same format. Not one to walk the beaten path, Tom added his own "Tomoser Touch" to the covers he made. To be unique, he recorded monster hits from female mega stars Barbra Streisand and Bette Mittler. Usually touted as "Chic Songs" Tom's belief is that great songs can be sung by both sexes as was done with songs from, "Carousel," "Oklahoma," and "Music Man,". To enlarge his career to performing as well as producing other artists, Tom sang Karaoke, several nights a week, which by December 2010 garnered him a full page 3 photo review, entitled "He Croons They Swoon", in the Omaha World Herald Living Section. Shortly after "He Croons They Swoon" ran, Tom was invited to appear on, "The Omaha Morning Blend" TV show. As a result of this wonderful publicity Tom was booked into 35 gigs around Omaha. Tom's focus has shifted back to producing and talent development, working with 3 acts to do every thing possible to advance their careers. Tom started work on assembling "The Best Of Tom Tomoser" some time ago and has decided now is the time to wrap "Best Of" up and release it. "Best Of" contains a very representative group of songs produced with the "Tomoser Touch," with material from all 4 decades of Tom's career. One of the Highlights of Tom's career was when he was given the invitation to sing his version of "America The Beautiful" at the last ball game played in the long time home of the College World Series, Rosenblatt Stadium. Tom is a Navy Vet and an 11th generation American and his touching arrangement of "America" was absolutely apprapo... |
