Think Black Crowes without the strutting and pretentiousness, and you'll be close. Spiraling guitar driven melodies (that run the gamut between R.E.M., Dylan, Cheap Trick and The Dictators) propelled by sterling six string work, smashing drums and pumping bass lines, fused to a vocal confidence that's second-to-none, is what the band Sticky offers up on their buzzing debut disc All Kindsa Worry. Featuring singer-guitarist Michael Press, guitarist Jonas Kahn and bassist Jeremy Curtis, the treatening threesome welcomes drum tracks from folks like Booth Hardy Ducky Carlisle and Dave Westner to round out their razor sharp sound. All three members of Sticky contribute to the song writing process, making for a formidable force of clamorous ideas and sounds. The result is an irresistible, highly infectious blend of punk, pop, and rock & roll that only a band from Boston could be capable of. Following in the post-punk footsteps of beloved Boston groups like The Rings, The Neighborhoods and the Nervous Eaters, Sticky stakes out their destenty and takes no prisioners on Alll Kindsa Worry with radio classics like the infiltrating 'Wirey Frame,' the reckless drive of 'He Got You,' and the freewheelin' thump of 'Motorcycle.' If their live show resembles anything of this disc, Sticky could very well be the next big thing from Boston. Good stuff! Sticky, "All Kindsa Worry,' All three members of Sticky -- Jeremy Curtis, Michael Press, and Jonas Kahn -- switch off on multiple instruments and forge an ever-shifting sound that never fails to engage. They move from pulsating garage-rock with big, barking guitar chords to artful, Neil Young-ish folk-rock.
