I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it. Streams & Stairwells The title of the CD was inspired by a couple places I enjoyed playing guitar; a relaxing stream in Georgia and the stairwell of my college dorm. The sound of each was truly amazing. 1. 'River Passage' This song always felt like floating down a stream that gave way to a river with a light drizzle overhead possibly coming from a distant waterfall. 2. 'December' A song written on a Cuban 12 string 'La d' given to me for Christmas by my best friend Robert. I named this song December to pay tribute to the season of giving. 3. 'Hope's Journey' Dedicated to my father, Angel Alvarez, and his journey of hope. 1924-1985 And to all the wonderful people that are part of mine. (yes that means you too!) 4. 'Starry Night Drive' It reminds me of a midnight road trip completely overtaken by the vast clarity of stars and a feeling reminiscent of Van Gogh's painting. 5. 'Streams & Stairwells' 1987 The song that started it all -- on the rocks, of the stream, behind Banning Mill. A wonderfully long piece that I just get lost in especially with the sound of a stream playing throughout. The song takes you on a relaxing journey of thoughts. 6. 'Morning Light' Simply a beautiful way to wake up. A walk in the woods as the dew dries and sunshine glows through the leaves to the east. Thanks to all my wonderful friends and family for listening, advice, and encouragement.
