	• SKU: 2248707 • UPC: 722975007326 • Shipping: $1.18 • Description: Moving Targets: Ken Chambers (vocals, guitar), Pat Leonard (bass, vocals), J. Arcari (drums). Recorded at Fort Apache, Cambridge, Massachusetts in December 1992. All songs written or co-written by members of Moving Targets. Personnel: Kenny Chambers (vocals, guitar); Pat Leonard (vocals); J. Arcari (drums). Recording information: Fort Apache (12/1992). Photographer: Kathy Chapman. After their second (third?) long retirement, Moving Targets have reunited again with predictably great results. This is now their fourth raging guitar, heavy bass-and-drums, high-and-dry battering album, notable for Kenny Chambers' sense of sterling choruses and stellar verses to match that malicious edge his buzzing guitar has had since 1987's crushing Burning in Water. Not that Chambers and mates (bassist Pat Leonard and drummer J. Arcari) haven't progressed. In many ways, Take This Ride is their most interesting LP (if not their most aurally thrilling), precisely because of the more restrained tempos, giving the band more room to groove and Chambers more time to rip off steely leads for this harsh post-punk/post-hardcore roaring rock. Songs such as "Unwind" and "Right Way" find Chambers caressing his strings in a way he might not have considered in the Bands That Could Be God (compilation) era, with no diminishing of chops or drama. As they continue to improve, MTs' only crime is that in the wake of Seattle, there are too many lesser lights crowding this field, meaning this comet might slip through the horizon of oblivion. Every time I've seen 'em play they've been ignored (hot dog vendors have bigger draws), and that's just overtly unfair. As an on-again, off-again proposition, they don't help their own cause much; still, if better supported, maybe the obviously talented Chambers (who in the past has wasted his off-time as second banana with such metallic lemons as Bullet la Volta) would be tempted to stay the course. Deft, melodic aural attacks like this are not that common anymore! Or why are so many bands covering Mission of Burma and Hsker D (MTs' closest benefactors) these days? ~ Jack Rabid

The day after Thanksgiving is known as Black Friday because for many retailers it was the day they went from being in the red to being in the black when they became profitable for the year. It is also the official beginning of the holiday shopping season, and Black Friday has become known for some of the best bargains, discounts and deals of the entire year! Everyone has watched stampeding crowds on the local news or diehard bargain hunters camping out overnight so they can be among the first to grab limited black friday specials at their favorite local retailers... However, if you prefer doing your holiday discount shopping from the warm and cozy comfort of home, then Cyber Monday was designed with you in mind! Online retailers spotted the Black Friday frenzy sweeping across the country as it took over brick and mortar locations - rather than compete for your black friday attention, they concocted a day that is all their own and named it Cyber Monday! The Monday after Thanksgiving is when your favorite online stores slash prices and offer their very best prices to help usher in the online holiday shopping season! That means big savings for you whether you choose to brave the local crowds on Black Friday or avoid the madness by browsing online during Cyber Monday Sales! Not to worry - the Friday and Monday after Thanksgiving might get the most attention for discount holiday shopping, but if you procrastinate beyond that magical bargain hunting window it doesn't mean you will be completely left out... In fact, this promises to be an exceptionally consumer-friendly holiday shopping season with sales, coupons and discounts extending far beyond Black Friday and Cyber Monday and allowing you to find the best prices on holiday gifts until the very last minute! Hoping to avoid discount shopping withdrawal? Even after Christmas and Hanukkah have come and gone, you'll still have After Holiday Specials to help usher in the New Year!
