The songs reflect the sounds absorbed while growing up listening to American music in its many forms. Imagine a funky acoustic, alt country, folk rock, reggae-blues band who play original songs and you'll get the picture. You might call it Americana. Call it whatever you like. After playing solo and with various musicians around his home in the San Francisco Bay area for many years, Eric recorded his first album of song demos, 'The Bedroom Tapes' in 2000 in his bedroom. Literally. Over the next several years, he kept his day job and built a recording studio in what used to be the basement garage of his house with the help and guidance of his friends, especially bass player/songwriter Frank Zincavage and audio engineer/style shaman Guy Lento. Eric and Guy are currently working on their debut album as Little Buffalo, after meeting at a recording session in 2007. Little Buffalo also features the contributions of, Jon Arkin - drums / James Deprato guitars / Alan Novidor - bass / Mary Pitchford - fiddle, piano / Melissa Phillips - vocals / Steve Utstein - keyboards, cello / Steve Epstein - pedal steel / Dave Zirbel - pedal steel /Christian Burkhart - drums / Steve Capper - keyboard / Jesse Capper - bass / Danny Carnahan - cello/mandocello, / Pete Grant - pedal steel / Tom Willard - drums, / Doug McCarthy - vocals, / Rob Lopez - bass, vocals / Phil Catalfo - vocals / Lou Ponig - vocals / Michael Guenley - vocals / David Wilbur - vocals, website design, spiritual guidance / Max Wilbur - attitude / / Dead Baby - drums, bass & buffalo mojo. Our influences (musically, at least) : J.J. Cale, David Lindley & El Rayo X, The Wrecking Crew, Mark Knopfler, Neil Young, Ry Cooder, The Band, The Funk Bros., Van Morrison, Lou Reed, Sonny Boy Williamson, Little Feat, Booker T. & the MG's, Nick Drake, Howlin Wolf, CCR, Tim Armstrong, Hepcat, the Wailers, Wasis Diop, Johnny Guitar Watson, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Guy Clark, Herb Alpert, the Stones, the Beatles, Gram Parsons, ... holy geez!, the list goes on... Our self-titled debut, is now available on CD, as downloads, and soon, on 12' vinyl as well. So, welcome and thanks for listening. Please buy our music and tell your friends about us. Enemies, too. Why not? Everyone needs good music. |
