Andreas Aleman, who happens to have one of the most unique voices to ever come out of Sweden, has just completed his debut album, THIS IS LIFE. The 33-year old vocalist/keyboardist has previously worked as an accompanist for Sweden's top gospel choirs and solo artists. As a songwriter, he has had songs recorded by artists throughout the world including Italian superstar, Laura Pausini. The album combines traditional soul/R&B/gospel and funk elements, which pays homage to his influences, Ray Charles, Michael McDonald and others, while maintaining his own contemporary sound. In addition to his exciting voice and songwriting skills (he wrote 12 of the 13 songs featured on the album), Andreas is a talented keyboardist and arranger. All keyboard work, vocal and instrumental arrangements were done by Andreas and THIS IS LIFE features some of the best and funkiest studio musicians in Sweden. The album was mastered in LA by top mastering engineer, Ron Boustead. What people are saying about THIS IS LIFE: "Yeah, Andreas is the new Swedish Funky Boy! I do dig his brand new album! "This is life" has all the grooves, the moods and modes it takes to reach out to a lot of people, young and old"- Nils Landgren- trombonist, vocalist and funkmeister "Andreas is the best thing that's happened to the soul/pop/funk scene in this part of the world in a very long time! His intense and at the same time warm and laid-back voice is indeed something 'extra-ordinaire'. And in this musical environment it's nothing less than a sensation! It makes me smile and move my skinny ass!"- Bj rn Skifs- Swedish recording artist "Here's living proof that Swedish artists are still able to create first class westcoast pop. Andreas places himself among artists like Bill Champlin, Kenny Loggins, Bill Cantos and Bobby Caldwell. This is a CD with a lot of variety; there's even a hint of Earth Wind & Fire and Tower Of Power in some songs."- Ola Gr nshagen- melodic.net/Sweden, Rock Magazine BIOGRAPHY ANDREAS was born and raised in S dert lje (Sweden). He began his musical career at the age of 3 when he started playing accordion and piano. Not long after that he began writing his own music. He found his musical style early on, largely thanks to his parents' record collection, which included everything from soul, funk, blues, rock, gospel and country. He listened, studied, and learned these different genres and taught himself how to play in all these styles. This formed the basis of his musical direction. While still in school, he played with various bands, which was where he began to utilize and develop his unique singing voice. When he was 16 he started getting musician and vocal gigs in Stockholm and since then has played in many different ensembles, bands and other music-related connections. He started focusing on songwriting after meeting songwriter/producer BRIAN HOBBS at EIDOLON PRODUCTIONS. They started collaborating and this... |
